Who we are

The Compagnia Mercantile D’Oltremare was founded in 1979, thanks to the tenacious work of its founder Lino Cutolo.

Years of learning and hands-on experience in the canning industry in his native region, the Agro Nocera-Sarnese, and the confidence instilled in him by the trust his mentors had in him, led Lino to decide to set up his own business and explore new markets.

Having become an expert in the tomato processing and sales sector at a very young age, he turned his attention to foreign markets in Africa and the United States.

Involving his two brothers, Remo and Franco, he founded the Compagnia Mercantile D’Oltremare.

Thanks to constant research and study of the traditions and typical products of its land, the Compagnia Mercantile d’Oltremare has become a solid production company over the years.

Lino and his brothers’ journey has never stopped. From the very beginning, when they began processing and offering tomato paste and peeled tomatoes, they have expanded their range with numerous other products from the most authentic Italian and Campanian traditions, creating a offering distinguished by tradition and quality.

Ciao – il pomodoro di Napoli. We identify with the world’s most famous Italian word: a welcoming and inclusive greeting, like Neapolitan cuisine.

In nomen omen: Lino Cutolo’s intuition has become a talisman and, at the same time, a flag that has opened the doors to all the countries we’ve reached with Ciao – the tomato of Naples.
It is through this universal greeting that we combine the value of Made in Italy with the cultures we encounter around the world.
We believe that food is a universal language capable of overcoming barriers and bringing people together.
